Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has conveyed to Mr. Leonardo Santos Simao, the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Representative and Head of the UN Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), his and the government’s dedication to maintaining peace before, during, and after the December 7 elections.

On Tuesday, October 29, Dr. Bawumia welcomed Mr. Simao to the Jubilee House.
He emphasized the strong relationship between Ghana and the UN System.
“I have full confidence in the institutions responsible for creating a conducive electoral environment, as demonstrated by their proven track records,” Dr. Bawumia stated.
Mr. Simao responded by pledging the UN’s support for Ghana’s ongoing growth and development, a commitment he shared on Facebook.
