According to Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, a well-known broadcaster, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has submitted his preferred running mate’s name to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership ahead of the December 7 presidential election.
During his Okay FM show, Ade Akye Abia, on April 4, 2024, Nkrumah Tikese revealed that several high-ranking NPP members, including Bawumia’s chosen running mate, confirmed the submission.
Nkrumah Tikese stated that he had spoken to around 50 individuals, including the chosen running mate, who verified the submission.
While he refrained from disclosing the individual’s name, he highlighted their attributes, including being highly regarded by the Manhyia Palace and possessing substantial wealth, which would benefit the party’s campaign funding.
The broadcaster explained that Bawumia’s choice was influenced by his prior interaction with the Manhyia Palace during his bid for the flagbearership, when the chiefs indicated their preference for a specific running mate.
