Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has pledged to upgrade Kumawu to municipality status following a petition from local chiefs.

During his constituency tour on Sunday, November 17, Bawumia outlined plans for major development projects in the area, including the establishment of a nursing training college.

He emphasized that these initiatives are designed to promote growth and create opportunities for the people of Kumawu.

“I can contest again if I win the elections but the same cannot be said for John Dramani Mahama. We plan to build a nursing training college in the Kumawu constituency, fix your roads and upgrade Kumawu to a municipality.

“I will account for all these promises when I return to campaign for re-election.”

Bawumia also commissioned a new district assembly office for the chiefs and people of the area.
