Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has stated that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will seek input from chiefs before introducing significant policies once he assumes office on January 7, 2025.

Speaking in Tepa in the Ashanti Region during a campaign tour, Dr. Opoku Prempeh emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s administration would show the utmost respect to traditional leaders and ensure their voices are heard.
“My boss, Dr. Bawumia has given me an important message to be delivered to you Nana.
He said his government will make sure that suggestions from Nananom will be sought before important policies are introduced.
“He also said his government will put in place policies and programmes that will make our respected chiefs actively contribute to the development of the country”, NAPO announced to Tepahene, Nana Adusei Atwenewaa Ampem.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh noted that Dr. Bawumia recognizes that traditional leaders’ voices are not sufficiently heard in national affairs, highlighting the importance of involving these wise chiefs more actively in the country’s governance.
The former Manhyia South MP emphasized that chiefs hold a unique position in society, making them invaluable assets to national development.
He stressed the need to encourage and support chiefs so they can meaningfully contribute to the country’s growth.
He also mentioned that under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership, the government would provide the necessary support to enable chiefs to carry out their duties effectively.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh urged the chiefs to support the NPP with prayers to secure victory in the next elections.
