Bibiani GoldStars’ coach, Frimpong Manso, is determined to maintain his side’s unbeaten start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season as they prepare to face Medeama SC in Tarkwa on Sunday.

With five wins and five draws from 10 matches, GoldStars remain the only undefeated team in the league and sit at the top of the standings.

However, a challenging encounter awaits as they take on Medeama, who are seeking to bounce back after failing to secure a win in their last three matches.

Frimpong Manso is confident his team can maintain their strong form, especially after an impressive away record that has seen them earn seven points.

“We are focused on keeping our unbeaten run intact. Medeama are a strong side, especially at home, but that won’t deter us. We will approach the game the same way we have approached all our away matches,” Manso said during his pre-match press conference.

GoldStars have not only been solid in attack but have also demonstrated a strong defensive record, conceding just three goals in their opening 10 games. Manso believes this defensive solidity has been key to their success.

“The fact that we’ve only conceded three goals shows how well we are playing without the ball. Against Medeama, we’ll need to build on this and continue to improve. We respect Medeama as one of the best teams in the league, and despite their recent form, we know they can be a tough opponent,” he added.

With GoldStars just one point ahead of second-placed Nations FC, Manso’s side will be looking for a positive result in Tarkwa to maintain their position at the top of the table.
