The High Court in Accra has granted bail of GHC 50,000 each to Salifu Amoako and Mouha Amoako, the parents of Elrad Amoako, whose actions led to a crash that resulted in the death of two individuals at East Legon in the Greater Accra Region.

A third accused, Linda Bempah, described as a sales assistant at Lilo Stitches, a business owned by the suspect’s brother, was also granted bail.

Salifu and Mouha Amoako were arrested on October 15, and appeared in court on October 16, facing charges for allowing an unlicensed person to drive.

During police interrogation, they admitted to letting their son, the suspect, drive to various locations, including the gym.

The prosecution disclosed in court that the keys to the Jaguar, owned by Mouha Amoako, were handed to Elrad by Linda Bempah, the third accused.

The defense lawyers appealed for bail, highlighting that the accused have fixed residences, stable employment, and are well-known in their community, ensuring their availability for trial.

They also emphasized that the charges were misdemeanors and that there was no intention to commit further offenses or interfere with the investigation.

Though the prosecution did not oppose the bail request, they requested strict conditions. After deliberation, the judge granted bail to all three accused under the specified terms.
