The University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Accra will host the highly anticipated opening match of the 2024 WAFU Zone B Under-17 tournament, featuring Ghana’s Black Starlets against Ivory Coast at 16:00GMT.
Under the guidance of seasoned coach Laryea Kingston, a former Black Stars winger, the Ghanaian team is poised to make a strong start in the competition.

Following an intensive preparation phase, the Black Starlets have demonstrated impressive form, winning 10 out of 14 matches, drawing 3, and losing just one.
These friendly encounters have not only honed the players’ skills but also fostered a united team spirit, crucial for success in the tournament.
The team is driven to end Ghana’s qualification drought, which has persisted since 2017.
Meanwhile, Ivory Coast has also been preparing diligently, engaging in two international friendlies against powerhouse teams Argentina and France.
