The Black Stars have dropped six places in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings following a disappointing international performance in September.

Ghana did not secure a win in either of their two group matches, losing 1-0 to Angola and drawing 1-1 with Niger in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The loss to Angola on September 5 ended Ghana’s 24-year unbeaten streak at home at the Baba Yara Stadium, while the draw against Niger left the team at the bottom of their group.
As a result, Ghana has fallen from 64th to 70th in the global rankings, marking a six-place drop, and they have also slipped two spots in the CAF region.
After a strong showing in June that saw them rise to 12th in Africa, they have now fallen to 14th.
