The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been urged by the Chairman of the Bono Regional Council of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, to consider a Bono native as his running mate. This appeal comes as the party prepares for the upcoming elections.
The Dormaahene emphasized that selecting a running mate from a specific region could alienate voters from other regions, harming the NPP’s electoral prospects.
Instead, he suggested considering candidates from the Bono area, which boasts talented individuals worthy of the position.

Several names have surfaced, including Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, Mahama Afful, and Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC), all of whom are natives of the Bono Region.
The Dormaahene emphasized that the Bono Region has an interest in the running mate selection and wants their people to be considered.
The political figures:
- Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC): NPP Bono Regional Chairman with impressive educational background and experience, including postgraduate degrees in International Relations and Diplomacy, Law, and Energy Economics. - Martin Kwaku Adjei-Mensah Korsah: Member of Parliament for Techiman South, Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development, and a member of the House committee and Foreign Affairs Committee.
