Brandon Thomas-Asante has completed his medical and signed with Coventry City.

The Ghanaian striker, who was previously with West Brom since 2022, impressed last season by scoring 11 goals and providing 2 assists in the Championship.

His performances caught the eye of many clubs with Hull City expressing serious interest.

However, it is believed George Boateng, who was recently appointed as first team coach at Coventry City, played a role in Asante-Thomas choosing the Sky Blues.

During Boateng’s tenure as assistant coach of Ghana, the 25-year-old received his debut call-up for the Black Stars ahead of the 2023 AFCON though he didn’t make the final squad

The striker had the chance to make his debut for the four-time AFCON champions in June against the Central African Republic during a 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Coventry City finished 9th in the Championship last season, nine points off a play-off spot, and reached the FA Cup semi-finals.

The club hopes Thomas-Asante will help them secure a potential return to the Premier League next season.
