The Red Devils suffered their first defeat of the new Premier League season after just two matches.

Manchester United were stunned by a 95th-minute winner in their second Premier League match of the season, as Brazilian forward Joao Pedro sealed a 2-1 victory for Brighton, leaving the Red Devils heartbroken.

In a dramatic second Premier League match of the season, Manchester United suffered late heartbreak as Joao Pedro scored a 95th-minute winner to give Brighton a 2-1 victory.

The Red Devils missed a golden opportunity to take an early lead when Diogo Dalot found Amad unmarked at the back post in the 10th minute, but the young Ivorian misfired from close range.

That miss proved costly when former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck slid in to put Brighton ahead 1-0 in the 32nd minute. It was Welbeck’s sixth goal against his former club and his 100th career goal.

Manchester United thought they had equalized shortly after, but Marcus Rashford’s close-range finish was ruled out for offside, leaving United trailing 1-0 at halftime.

After the break, Amad redeemed himself by scoring a deflected shot to bring Manchester United level at 1-1.

With 15 minutes remaining, substitute Alejandro Garnacho appeared to have scored the go-ahead goal, tapping into an open net.

However, the goal was controversially disallowed because Joshua Zirkzee, who was offside, touched the ball before it crossed the line.

Brighton capitalized on this missed opportunity, and in the 95th minute, Joao Pedro headed in a cross from a corner to secure a stunning 2-1 win for Brighton, keeping them at the top of the Premier League table.
