The British Commissioner in Ghana, has advised its Nationals to avoid public gathering after some residents of Ejura clashed with a joint police and soldiers leading to the death of two persons.
The incident occurred when some residents threw stones at the security personnel who were deployed around the burial of the late #FixTheNation campaigner, Kaaka.
The high commissioner has sent condolence to the deceased family in a tweet, that reads; “We are concerned about report of violence and saddened by the news of deaths in Ejura. Our thoughts are with the families and community at this time.”
“In line with our travel advice, British Nationals should remain vigilante, avoid any large public gatherings and demonstrations, monitor local media for up-to-date information and follow the advice of local authorities.” It continued.
His family says, “He had face threats over his activism prior to the attack.”
Ibrahim Muhammed death has generated protest in Ejura and its surroundings.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command says, “Investigations have started into the circumstances that led to the incident between the residents of Ejura and security personnel.”
