Brother of Rae Sremmurd arrested for killing their father

According to reports, brother of American hip-hop duo Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi of Rae Sremmurd, Michael Sullivan has been charged for allegedly killing their stepfather.

This was revealed on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, by District Attorney John Weddle revealed that the 19-year-old was charged on Lee Mounty of Mississippi – as the indictment was dished out to Sullivan after a grand jury heard evidence about the killing of 62-year-old Floyd Sullivan in January.

Officials from the Tupelo Police Department were sent to an address on the 500th block of Lumpkin Avenue at around 9.30 pm on January 6 and found 62-year-old Floyd Sullivan dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

As gathered by GhanaTalksRadio, details surrounding the shooting that took place in Mississippi in January 2020 are still unknown. 

Sullivan, who is still in custody without a yet-set court date, faces life imprisonment if convicted.

Sullivan was detained in a mental hospital after the shooting in January last year as a person of interest in the crime.

Rae Sremmurd’s mother, Bernadette Walker later provided information about her son’s medical condition and revealed that Sullivan suffers from Schizoaffective disorder, a mental health condition in which people suffer from mood swings, delusions and other schizophrenia-related psychotic symptoms.

She said she believed her son may have been off his medication prior to the alleged shooting. She said that Michael had a number of episodes with her before going to live with his father.

She added that she believed her son might have taken the medicine before the alleged shooting, and that Sullivan had several episodes with her before living with her father.

The hip-hop duo has not yet commented on their stepfather’s death.
