Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has successfully dodged a three-match suspension after the club appealed the red card he received during the match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The 30-year-old midfielder was dismissed for a foul on Spurs’ James Maddison, a decision that threatened to keep him out of future Premier League matches.

United’s appeal contended that the straight red card was issued in error, and the Football Association (FA) has concurred, lifting the suspension.

This means Fernandes will now be available for Manchester United’s upcoming matches against Aston Villa, Brentford, and West Ham.

The red card occurred when Erik ten Hag’s team was trailing 1-0 at Old Trafford, and they ultimately suffered a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham.

This marked United’s third league loss of the season, leaving them in 13th place after six games.

United’s struggles at the start of the season persist, but avoiding a ban for Fernandes provides a much-needed boost as they look to turn their form around.
