In Kiboga, a 42-year-old witchdoctor, Madinah Nakyeyune, is in police custody in connection with the gruesome murder of 11-year-old Oliver Namanda.
The young girl’s body was discovered on June 13, two days after she was reported missing. She had been selling boiled maize in Kiboga Town before her disappearance.
According to Wamala region Police spokesperson, Rachel Kawala, the girl’s relatives filed a missing person’s report, leading to a search operation.

A young boy discovered Namanda’s body parts in Kibanja, Kirurumba cell, and informed the authorities.
The police investigation, aided by a canine dog, led them to Nakyeyune’s shrine, resulting in her arrest.
The body had been mutilated, with internal organs like lungs and heart removed. The police are working to apprehend all suspects and recover the missing body parts.
Local NGOs, Cherished Children Foundation and Project Rescue Children, have joined the investigation and are supporting the deceased’s family.
The foundation’s founder, Ezra Ssebuliba, and Project Rescue Children’s founder, Adam Whittington, condemned the heinous act and urged the police to speed up investigations.
In a separate incident, 35-year-old Peter Kibuuka was found dead with wounds on his neck and abdomen in Kirurumba on June 12.
