The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has awarded Nigeria three points and three goals for their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifier against Libya, following an investigation into the treatment of the Nigerian team in Libya.

This decision, announced by Ousmane Kane, Chairperson of CAF’s Disciplinary Board, comes after the Super Eagles reportedly faced poor conditions, including long delays at the airport, lack of access to food, and no internet.

CAF found the Libyan Football Federation in violation of several articles, including Article 31 of the AFCON Regulations, declaring Libya as having forfeited the match, granting Nigeria a 3-0 victory.
The Libyan Federation was also fined USD 50,000, with a 60-day period to settle the amount.
