President of the Confederation of African Football, Patrice Motsepe is impressed with the level of work in Ivory Coast ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023.

The 2015 champions will host the tournament in fifteen months as the competition returns to the June/July schedule.

The CAF boss was in the West African country to inspect the progress of work ahead of the tournament next year.

“We are confident that the AFCON you will organise here will be the best,” Motsepe said after meeting Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan.

“We are reassured by the different infrastructure that you have put in place to host this competition.

“I am satisfied with the progress made, even if there are still some problems to sort out.”

The South African supervised his first Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon early this year and will be hoping for a successful tournament in Ivory Coast.
