Ghanaian afrobeats artist Camidoh has issued a heartfelt apology for his recent remarks, which compared the open-mindedness of Nigerian and Ghanaian women.

The singer expressed his regret during an interview with Nana Ama McBrown on Onua Showtime on Friday, October 11.

Camidoh, who had recently appeared as a guest on the podcast Rants, Bants and Confession, had commented that Nigerian women tend to be more open-minded than their Ghanaian counterparts.

“Nigerian women are more exposed in various ways. It’s easier for a Nigerian woman to grasp certain concepts that a Ghanaian woman might not understand… There are topics that might surprise Ghanaian women, but Nigerian women are more aware of what’s going on globally,” he remarked on the podcast.

Following these comments, Camidoh faced criticism on social media for making such a comparison.

During his Onua Showtime appearance, he clarified that he did not intend to insult Ghanaian women.

“My intention wasn’t to criticize Ghanaian women… If my words were taken that way, I am truly sorry because I love my country, I love Ghanaian women, and I appreciate their support… I recognize my mistake, please forgive me,” he said in his apology.
