In the North Tongu District, BECE candidates have been directed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to refrain from wearing shoes or belts during their exams.

This measure, intended to prevent cheating, allows candidates to wear sandals instead. At St. Kizito Senior High School, a designated exam center, GES officials stressed the importance of strict adherence to this directive.

They highlighted that the prohibition of shoes and belts aims to safeguard the integrity of the examination process by minimizing opportunities for misconduct.

However, not all students have welcomed the directive. Some candidates have voiced discomfort and dissatisfaction, stating that they are not used to wearing sandals or dressing without belts.

They argue that these adjustments have adversely impacted their comfort and focus during the exams.

Even though some students are unhappy, GES officials are sticking to the rule to make sure the exams are fair and honest.
