Three people lost their lives on Friday, December 27, 2024, when a bus traveling from Takoradi to Accra overturned at the intersection near Aggrey Memorial School in Cape Coast.
The bus, with registration number GW 6231-21, was carrying around 53 passengers when it fell on its side, trapping several passengers.

A total of 23 individuals who sustained various injuries are receiving treatment at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, while nine others were treated and discharged.
Abdul Wasiu Hudu, the Central Regional Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), confirmed that the incident occurred around 6:48 AM. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
He said with the collaborative efforts of officers from the GNFS, the police personnel and personnel from the ambulance services, most of the passengers were rescued and taken to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital and the University of Cape Coast Hospital for medical care.
He said three of the passengers were unfortunately confirmed dead at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.
