Dr. James Condua Orleans-Lindsay, Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University, was honored as the “Man of the Year” at the 9th EMY Africa Awards, held on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
The prestigious event recognized outstanding men from various sectors, including industry, community, culture, and public service, who have made significant contributions to societal development.

Dr. Orleans-Lindsay, the CEO of JL Properties and Executive Chairman of JL Holdings, received the highest accolade of the evening for his exceptional leadership and achievements.
His recognition highlights his unwavering commitment to sustainable real estate, agriculture, and other key sectors in Ghana and internationally.
Under his leadership, JL Properties and JL Holdings have made remarkable strides in construction, beverages, security, bakery, supplies, agriculture, aquaculture, and consultancy.
One of his most notable achievements is the transformation of the once-dilapidated Achimota dumpsite and quarry into the cleanest estate in the country. His businesses span across several countries, including Portugal, Malta, the United Kingdom, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, and Nigeria.
Dr. Orleans-Lindsay is also a TEDx speaker, former president of the Ghana Association of Young Entrepreneurs, and a recognized contributor to the United Nations’ top African managing directors’ best practices.
He is a member of several prestigious organizations, including the Ghana-France Chamber of Commerce, the Ghana-UK Chamber of Commerce, and the Commonwealth Business Council.
He was also personally invited by former Mozambican President, Joaquim Alberto Chissano, to attend the country’s Investment Conference.
He also earned a visit from the Sierra Leonian president, H.E Julius Maada Bio. He was featured in the Forbes Africa December 2022 – January 2024 Issue and Oxford Business Group 2023 Ghana Report.
