The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) has urged Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, to fully comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling, which ordered a stay on the declaration of four parliamentary seats as vacant.

CDD-Ghana acknowledged the varied public opinions on both the Speaker’s actions and the Court’s intervention.
The think tank emphasized the need for careful management of the situation to avoid any political or constitutional crisis as the 2024 general elections approach.
CDD-Ghana called on Parliament, political parties, and the media to show restraint and uphold the democratic principles that underpin Ghana’s governance.
Additionally, CDD-Ghana encouraged Parliament to file the necessary legal documents promptly to ensure a swift resolution and recommended seeking a review of the Court’s decision, if necessary.
The think tank also highlighted the importance of maintaining peace and stability during this period.
