The Kasoa Ofaakor District Court has remanded Nai Akwasi Lartey, also known as Donstar, into police custody for one week.
This decision allows the police sufficient time to conduct a thorough investigation.

Nai Akwasi Lartey, who serves as the boundary chief of Awutu Ofaakor and a bodyguard for Kasoa MP Mavis Hawa Koomson, accidentally discharged a firearm during the coronation of sub-chiefs at the Awutu Awobia Festival in Awutu Breku on September 3.
The incident resulted in injuries to Ato Aidoo, who is now hospitalized at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.
Lartey, who was in police custody, appeared in court on Thursday.
A relative, Nana Yaw Asamoah, criticized the NDC for politicizing the situation and expressed concerns that the pursuit of justice might affect Lartey’s ability to cover the victim’s medical expenses.
“Naa Koryoo should have at least visited the family of the victim but not to digress the issue to score a political point.
My uncle cried because the matter had taken us by surprise and we had spent a lot of money on the material already.
The matter has nothing to do with politics but it’s being politicized creating tension in Kasoa.
“The victim is from Winneba and an elderly man so I wonder why the NDC candidate is claiming that the victim is a relative.
My brother is now in police custody and I wonder how he is going to take care of the victim,” he stated.
