Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has addressed the situation with Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell, who are currently training separately from the first-team squad.

Maresca defended his decision, stating that his approach has been “honest” rather than “brutal,” as he manages a large squad.
Maresca explained that he had informed Sterling before Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City that he would “struggle to get minutes,” which led to Sterling being left out of the squad.
He also mentioned having been clear with Chilwell about the difficulties he faces due to his position.
Maresca expressed frustration with the portrayal of managing a 42-man squad, noting that more than 15 players are training apart from the team.
He stressed that the situation is not as chaotic as it may seem.
With the transfer window closing on August 30, Chelsea is expected to see several departures.
Additionally, Reece James will miss the upcoming Conference League play-off against Servette due to injury, and Joao Felix will be unavailable as he was not registered in time following his move from Atletico Madrid.
