Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer has signed a major contract extension, keeping him at Stamford Bridge until 2033.

The 22-year-old’s new deal highlights his outstanding performance and development since moving to Chelsea from Manchester City.

Palmer had an incredible breakthrough season, scoring 25 goals and providing 15 assists in 45 games during his first year with the Blues.

His impressive form earned him a place on the shortlist for both the PFA Player and Young Player of the Year awards, and he was named the Premier League Young Player of the Season for 2023-24.

The extension comes as Chelsea seeks to reward Palmer for his contributions and secure his future during a busy summer transfer window. Palmer also gained attention after scoring in England’s 2-1 loss to Spain in the Euro 2024 final in July.

Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, who will kick off his tenure against his former team, Manchester City, on the Premier League’s opening day, is focused on revitalizing the squad.

Maresca, who guided Leicester City back to the Premier League by winning the Championship last season, aims to harness the squad’s potential.

The Blues have been very active in the transfer market, making over 12 signings this summer as they look to improve on last season’s sixth-place finish.

Chelsea missed out on Europa League qualification, landing a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League after Manchester United’s FA Cup win over Manchester City.

With Palmer’s extended contract and a host of new signings, Chelsea is set to make a strong push in the upcoming Premier League season.
