The Ashanti Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Mumin Harun, has passed away.
Sheikh Harun, who had served as the Regional Imam since 2011, died on Tuesday evening at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.
Sheikh Mohammed Maheey Ibrahim, a member of the Council of Ullama and Imams in the Ashanti Region, confirmed the news to Channel One News and mentioned that funeral arrangements will be announced soon.
“Indeed we are Allah’s and we are returning to Allah. I announce this morning with grief heart that we lost our great person, the person of Ashanti Regional Chief Imam Sheikh Alhaji Abdul Mumin Harun. He passed away last night and the funeral arrangement shall follow very soon.
“We give our condolences to all and sundry in the Islamic world. We lost our man. May Allah forgive his sins and may all his deeds be accepted by Allah,” he stated.
