The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG) has declared its intention to go on strike nationwide due to the prolonged delay in finalizing a salary structure for Civil Service and Local Government Service employees.

Previously, CLOGSAG had indicated a potential strike in July 2024 but postponed it following discussions with the government.

An understanding was reached that a salary structure would be finalized by October 31, 2024, and implemented from January 1, 2025.

However, despite multiple meetings, no concrete offer has been made by the government.

CLOGSAG stated in a recent release that the October 31 deadline is unlikely to be met. As a result, they have no choice but to proceed with the strike starting Monday, November 4, 2024.
