Controversial Ghanaian Football Administrator Kofi Manu is anticipating the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League will be suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Ghana Premier League was suspended in March following the outbreak of the virus with Ghana recording 161 cases and five people confirmed dead as of 1 April, 2020.
Currently there is a two-week partial lockdown in the West African country and cases continues to rise which has led to the resumption of the league in doubt.
This according to Kofi Manu may lead to the Ghana FA canceling this season’s league.
“It will be difficult for the league (GPL) to continue monitoring the situation at hand involving the Coronavirus pandemic”, he told Light FM.
The Covid-19 has plunged a lot of Ghanaian clubs into financial crisis as they seek for support from government.
According to reports the Ghana Football Association is considering offering a special package to the clubs in this difficult times.
