Former Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta’s bid to strike out an arrest warrant issued by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has been dismissed by the High Court (Criminal Division).

Ofori-Atta had argued that the OSP obtained the warrant unlawfully and sought to have it set aside, along with related proceedings, including an Interpol Red Notice alert.

However, the court ruled that the application lacked merit and dismissed it in its entirety. This decision upholds the validity of the arrest warrant and the accompanying Red Notice.

The OSP had maintained that the warrant was lawfully secured and executed, and the court’s ruling clears the way for the Special Prosecutor’s office to continue its legal and investigative processes against Ofori-Atta.
