Court jails actress Akuapem Poloo for posting naked photos on social media

Controversial actress and socialite, Rosemond Brown better known as Akuapem Poloo has been handed a 90-day jail term for posting indecent photos of herself and son on social media.

Poloo was today, April 16, 2021, sentenced to 3 months in jail over her negligence of snapping and postings naked photos of herself and son, in celebration of his 7th birthday last June.

The actress was convicted by the Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday, April 14 after pleading guiltyto the charges of misdemeanor, domestic violence, and publishing obscene material.

Following the judgement, the court ordered her to undergo a pregnancy test to ascertain her pregnancy status, which appears to have come out negative.

The judge affirmed that that her pleas have been duly considered, hence the “short” sentence.

Her conviction caused a gigantic uproar on social media, as it was highly condemned by several high-profile celebrities, including Sarkodie, Lydia Forson, Kwaw Kesse, DKB and Martha Ankomah, Delay and Bridget Otoo.

The campaign, which was accompanied by the hashtags, #FreeAkuapemPoloo and #FreeAkuapemPoloo were highly publicized, as they called and clamoured for her release.
