Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankumah, the presidential candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has sharply criticized Ghana’s two major political parties, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for the economic difficulties facing Ghanaians.

She blames the mismanagement by these parties for the country’s current challenges and is urging citizens to support the CPP in the 2024 general elections to instigate change.

In an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Channel One TV’s Face to Face on Tuesday, October 8, Nana Akosua highlighted the struggles many Ghanaians face in affording three meals a day due to the prevailing economic conditions.

She pledged to tackle these issues by promoting economic independence, ensuring affordable housing, and providing access to clean water for all citizens if elected.

“There’s also the same truth that the big parties are the ones who have squandered our money; they are the very reason why you and I are in debt.

They are the reason Kenkey is selling for GHC10. They are the reason why young people cannot afford decent accommodation and a reasonable standard of living,” she stated.

When asked about claims that smaller political parties often act as extensions of larger ones, influenced by financial incentives, she declined to comment, saying, “Do they [NPP, NDC] have money? Whose money? I won’t answer that.”
