Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has stated that he is unfazed by criticism, emphasizing that he has faced far more challenging situations throughout his career.

Ahead of Ghana’s final 2025 AFCON qualifier against Niger on Monday, November 18, at the Accra Sports Stadium, Addo addressed the pressure he’s under due to Ghana’s failure to progress to the 2025 AFCON.

The team’s 1-1 draw with Angola in Luanda confirmed their elimination from the competition, leaving them winless after five games in the qualifiers.

Despite calls for his resignation in light of the team’s poor performance, Addo maintained that criticism does not bother him, pointing to his previous experiences in dealing with difficult circumstances in his career.

“I think this is part of the job, I knew what to expect when I took this job…it’s kind of normal. I grew up in Germany in an environment with a lot of white people, a lot of racists, a lot of hatred and for me, I went through a lot in my life to even be a footballer, I worked a lot and was the same as a coach.”

“I always have to fight my way through so it (criticism) doesn’t affect me to be honest because I went through so much. I know where I’m coming from.”
