Dr. Richardson Commey Fio, Deputy Director of the National Commission on Culture (NCC), has voiced strong disapproval of the increasing trend of cross-dressing among male TikTok content creators.

He condemned the practice as an affront to Ghana’s cultural and moral values.
Dr. Commey Fio’s concerns intensified following reports of male content creators in Kumasi attending the Ridge Condos All Black Party dressed and accessorized as women.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, he criticized these actions as contrary to Ghanaian cultural norms.
“It is very disappointing that we continue to witness behaviors that undermine our rich cultural values and norms,” Dr. Commey Fio stated.
He further described the incident in Kumasi as a significant disrespect to Ghanaian culture and a direct insult to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Manhyia, and all cultural custodians in the Ashanti Region and beyond.
Dr. Commey Fio also criticized those who use globalization and modernity as excuses for actions he believes erode the moral fabric of Ghanaian society.
