The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has extended the deadline for the licensing and accreditation of cybersecurity service providers, cybersecurity professionals, and cybersecurity establishments.

The original deadline of September 30, 2023, has been extended to December 31, 2023.

This move aims to facilitate compliance with Act 1038 and foster a collaborative approach to regulating the cybersecurity industry, creating an environment conducive to its growth.

The primary objective of this regulatory regime is to ensure compliance with Act 1038, thereby enforcing the adoption of approved standards and procedures both domestically and in accordance with international best practices.

CSA in a statement said the extension will allow all stakeholders, particularly Cybersecurity Service Providers, Cybersecurity Establishments, and Cybersecurity Professionals, who are yet to initiate the process of obtaining licenses and accreditations, to take the necessary steps to comply with the regulations.

The CSA’s decision to extend the deadline is aligned with its commitment to work alongside the industry to create a thriving ecosystem. This collaborative approach reflects the need for cybersecurity providers and professionals to adhere to established standards and procedures, maintaining the highest levels of security in the digital landscape.

To ensure regulatory compliance, the CSA has provided a streamlined mechanism for Cybersecurity Service Providers, Cybersecurity Establishments, and Cybersecurity Professionals to offer their services. To achieve this, all applicants who have registered on the CSA’s licensing and accreditation portal but have not submitted complete applications are urged to do so within this extended period.

For those who are interested in commencing the application process or require additional information, please visit the official CSA Licensing and Accreditation portal at https://csa.gov.gh/licensing_and_accreditation.

“The extension of this deadline offers a valuable opportunity for individuals and organizations involved in cybersecurity to engage with the regulatory framework, ensuring they meet the required standards and procedures. Compliance with Act 1038 is essential to strengthen the overall cybersecurity ecosystem and provide the public with greater confidence in the services and professionals operating within this vital sector.”
