Damongo: Yaa-Naa makes historic visit to Jakpa palace

On Sunday, February 16, His Royal Majesty Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II, the Overlord of Dagbon, embarked on a historic return visit to the Yagbonwura, Bii-Kunuto Jewusoale I, at his palace.

This significant visit symbolized unity and mutual respect, as the King and Lord of the Dagbon Kingdom visited his brother, the King and Lord of the Gonja Kingdom.

Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II acknowledged the crucial role of the Yagbon Kingdom in fostering peace within Dagbon and highlighted the strong, enduring bond between the two kingdoms.

He also expressed his full support for President John Dramani Mahama, praising his efforts to reset and transform the nation for the benefit of all.

Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale l said the chieftaincy succession remains a significant source of conflict in Ghana, particularly in the five regions of the north.

Salisu Be-Awuribe, Savannah Regional Minister said, the move by Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale l, has ignited that strong passion for Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II has reciprocated that move to show significant peace and unity among both Kingdoms.
