New Patriotic Party Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has reassured trainee nurses that the government is committed to addressing delays in their allowance payments.

Speaking to students at Korle Bu Nursing and Midwifery Training College in Accra, he acknowledged the concerns about payment delays but emphasized that these delays are preferable to having the allowances canceled altogether.

Dr. Prempeh, known as Napo, reiterated his commitment to ensuring timely disbursements, stressing that the party had restored nursing training allowances after they were previously canceled.

He assured the trainees that efforts are being made to prevent future delays, as the government understands the financial challenges students face.

“While there may be occasional delays, it is better to have delayed allowances than no allowances at all,” Napo noted.

Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, a senior campaign aide, highlighted Napo’s qualities as a capable and compassionate leader who understands Ghana’s political landscape.

He also emphasized that the 2024 elections would be decided in the Ashanti Region, calling for nationwide support for the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Bawumia, and his running mate.
