Mr. Alfred Tuah-Yeboah, the Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice, has urged voters to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, and the party’s parliamentary candidates in the upcoming December 7 elections.
He warned against ‘skirt and blouse’ voting, stating that it weakens parliamentary processes, hampers government operations, and slows down socio-economic development.

“We must learn from the current situation in Parliament, where the NPP holds 138 seats and the NDC has 137. This has significantly slowed down government business,” the Deputy Minister remarked during the inauguration of a newly built market in Abesim, near Sunyani.
The market, funded with contributions from Mr. Kwasi Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the incumbent MP for Sunyani East, includes 18 open sheds, 13 stores, washrooms, and an office.
Describing the presidential election as a ‘done deal’ for the NPP, Mr Tuah-Yeboah said “Government business will be difficult for Alhaji Dr Bawumia if the NPP fails to win a majority of the parliamentary seats”.
He commended the Sunyani East MP for his passion for and for bringing the development of the constituency to the next level and urged the electorates to retain him as their MP on December 7.
Besides Abesim and its adjoining communities, Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh indicated all the local communities in the constituency had in one way or another equally benefited from development projects ranging from educational and health facilities, better roads, electricity extension, and potable drinking water.
He said the construction of the Abesim Nsasananim Bridge as well as ongoing works on the construction of an artificial pitch and a durbar ground in the town would help alleviate the plight of the people.
The MP therefore urged the electorates there to vote for him and Alhaji Dr Bawumia so that those projects would be completed as scheduled.
Mr John Ansu Kumi, the Sunyani Municipal Chief Executive noted that the MP had played an instrumental role in facilitating the development of the municipality and urged the electorates to endorse him.
“With Alhaji Dr Bawumia and Mr Ameyaw-Cheremeh, the assembly will be able to tackle the development shortfall in the municipality,” he stated.
