A devastating fire at Kpone Kokompe on Friday, September 13, 2024, has tragically claimed the lives of four individuals: a 14-year-old girl, two boys aged 11 and 2, and a 27-year-old man.

The blaze, which ignited at 11:28 p.m., rapidly spread, consuming 10 wooden structures and destroying personal belongings, furniture, and home appliances.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived at the scene at 11:47 p.m. and managed to control the fire by 12:31 a.m., fully extinguishing it by 12:55 a.m.
Despite their efforts, it was later discovered that the 27-year-old man, who had unexpectedly returned home, was among the victims, along with the three children.
The community is in mourning, and the GNFS has extended its condolences to the bereaved families and those affected by the tragedy.
Firefighters succeeded in preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures, thereby minimizing additional damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Earlier today, Tema Regional Fire Commander ACFO II Patrick Sallah and other officers visited the affected families to offer their condolences and assess the damage.
