
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, welcomed representatives from 17 diplomatic missions and international organisations for the signing of the Book of Condolence in honour of the victims of last week’s tragic military helicopter crash.
The solemn event formed part of a series of national mourning activities recognising the lives and service of eight distinguished Ghanaians who died in the crash – Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed (MP), Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Squadron Leader Peter Baafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah. These individuals were celebrated for their dedication, leadership, and sacrifice to the nation.
The diplomatic delegations that signed the condolence book included the High Commission of the Republic of Zambia, International Fertilizer Development Centre (IFDC), Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Embassy of the State of Libya, Honorary Consulate of Seychelles, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan, Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Embassy of the State of Palestine, High Commission of Malaysia, Embassy of the Russian Federation, Embassy of the United States of America, High Commission of the Republic of Kenya, Embassy of the Czech Republic, and the Royal Danish Embassy.
Many of the envoys left heartfelt messages, conveying deep sympathies to the bereaved families and affirming their countries’ solidarity with Ghana in this moment of grief.
Officials of the Ministry expressed profound appreciation to the diplomatic corps for their support, noting that such gestures reinforce the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Ghana and its international partners.
