The West African Regional Director for CUTS International-Accra, Appiah Kusi Adomako, has urged the government to establish a strong consumer protection framework and expedite the passage of the long-awaited Consumer Protection Law.

Speaking to the media on wednesday, march 19, at the world consumer day celebration held at Alisa in Accra, he emphasized that the law has been stuck in the Ministry of Trade and Industry for over 25 years, leaving consumers vulnerable to unfair trade practices and substandard goods.

He also called on the media to play a crucial role in advocating for consumer protection in Ghana. He urged journalists to help set the agenda and push the government to expedite the passage of the long-delayed Consumer Protection Law, which has been pending for over 25 years.
