Ghanaian comedian DKB advocates for tax rebates for companies supporting cultural and arts activities. Drawing inspiration from certain Nigerian states, he believes implementing such incentives would motivate increased investment in the entertainment industry.

DKB intends to propose this initiative through parliamentary channels, with the aim of encouraging corporate social responsibility beyond traditional practices, promoting the sponsorship of creative arts.

In his proposal, he envisions a system where companies, involved in supporting the arts, can receive tax rebates during their annual tax filing as a recognition of their contributions to the creative sector.

Securing sponsorship remains a challenging endeavor for many arts event organizers.

Notable creatives such as comedians OB Amponsah and Lekzy DeComic, alongside George Quaye, the team lead for Image Bureau, advocate for the government to explore more streamlined methods of integrating arts-related events into the tax framework.
