Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has stirred controversy with bold claims about the medical profession, alleging that doctors are “basically trained all through their career not to heal, but to keep you coming back.”

Speaking in an interview on Echoo Room hosted by reality TV star Teddy A, the outspoken actor described the global medical industry as a “trillion-dollar big pharma business” designed to ensure patients remain customers for life.

“There’s a GMO everywhere. The orthodox medicines; the lies. If I say it anywhere, it upsets them [medical practitioners]. Medical doctors are basically trained all throughout their career not to heal. If they heal you, you’re not a customer anymore, and they won’t make money,” he stated.

Iyke argued that the system thrives on dependency rather than cures, asserting that this profit-driven model prevents the industry from prioritising patient recovery.

The Last Flight to Abuja star, known for his unfiltered views, also criticised the modern feminist movement earlier this week, claiming it has “strayed far from its original purpose” and now operates more like “a crime” than a cause for gender equality.

His latest remarks have sparked heated debate online, with many health professionals dismissing his assertions as baseless, while others agree the medical industry prioritises profit over patient well-being.
