Seth Kobla Aklasi, CEO of Donewell Insurance, has addressed customer concerns regarding the company’s supposed rebranding, clarifying that Donewell Insurance has not undergone any rebranding.
The confusion arose from media reports suggesting that the company had rebranded. Aklasi explained that the confusion stemmed from similarities between Donewell Insurance and Donewell Life Assurance, a separate entity with different ownership and management that has rebranded.

Aklasi elaborated that between 1993 and 2007/8, Donewell Insurance was a single entity offering both life and non-life insurance services. However, following the Insurance Act of 2006 (Act 724), which required the separation of life and non-life insurance businesses, Donewell was split into two distinct companies: Donewell Insurance, focusing on short-term insurance, and Donewell Life Assurance, handling life insurance.
After a change in shareholding in 2015-2016, Donewell Life Assurance became an independent entity with a new identity. Aklasi emphasized that this rebranding does not affect Donewell Insurance, which continues to operate under its original structure and management.
Donewell Insurance is and continuous to be in the general insurance business with successful and highly patronized products such as fire and allied perils, motor insurance, personal accident, bonds, contractors all risk, money insurance, plant and machinery, fidelity guaranteed policy, goods in transit and public liability policy.
“If it is that you have a house insured, your factory insured, a travel policy etc., then you will know that you have been dealing with Donewell Insurance Ltd. We are here. Our name hasn’t changed since 1993 when we started operations”, Mr. Aklasi said assuring customers of continued innovative services.
