
With the current uproar on the large sum of money in foreign and Local currency stolen from the home of Cecilia Dapaah, A former minister of sanitation and water resources which prompted her resignation. A new twist of events has suggested that the former Minister claimed the monies were gotten as donations from her late brother’s funeral.
According to a public policy analyst,Professor Enoch opoku Antwi who will not be taking any of that,according to him,no funeral can generate such huge amount of monies.a
He went further to state that Cecilia Dapaah should not insult the intelligence of Ghanaians,
“What is humane about this? Look at the level of poverty going on in our system and if a minister is sitting on this kind of money, instead of the public condemning it people are rather saying it is a donation from funerals. We have done a lot of funerals in this country; funerals do not generate that kind of money.whether private or public,you can not keep such monies at home.as you put your entire house hold in danger he is reported to have stated.
Prof. Enoch Antwi also explained that any one who puts such monies in their homes puts themselves on high-securiy risk
If the money is not legitimate that is when people will keep it in the house and we need to investigate the source of the money,” he stated.
