The Electoral Commission (EC) has warned individuals under 18 years old to avoid the upcoming Mop-Up Voter Registration Exercise.

This registration event will be held from Thursday, August 1 to Saturday, August 3, 2024. The EC aims to add between 50,000 and 70,000 new voters to the electoral roll during this period.
At a news conference in Accra, Mr. Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of the EC in charge of Operations, stated,
“We urge parents and guardians not to allow their children under 18 years old to participate in the Mop-Up Voter Registration Exercise.”
He also announced that the Commission has scheduled the exhibition of the Voters Register from August 20 to 27, 2024, which will occur at all polling stations nationwide.
“All registered voters are encouraged to go to their polling stations to check that their names are in the voters register or use the shortcode to electronically check their names in the voters register,” he encouraged.
He also urged applicants and registration officials to conduct themselves properly at the centers to ensure a smooth registration process.
