Dr. Orleans Lindsay, Executive Chairman of JL Holdings Ghana, has officially been inaugurated as the first Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) in a landmark ceremony attended by government officials, dignitaries, and academic leaders.

During his investiture, Dr. Lindsay expressed heartfelt appreciation for the warm welcome he has received from the CCTU community and the people of Cape Coast.
He acknowledged the challenges the university faces, such as infrastructure gaps including student hostels, lecture halls, and recreational facilities.
Despite these hurdles, he expressed confidence in overcoming them with the support of the government, alumni, and other stakeholders.
Dr. Lindsay underscored CCTU’s mandate to promote technical and vocational education, encourage innovation, and foster industry partnerships, aligning these goals with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to quality education and economic growth.
“As the first Chancellor of this noble institution, I pledge to uphold the highest standards of academic excellence and ensure that our programs are accessible and affordable to all Ghanaians,” he said.
He outlined several strategic initiatives, including recruiting top-tier faculty, developing relevant academic programs, and building global partnerships.
Dr. Lindsay, drawing on his extensive business background, vowed to connect CCTU with international institutions, enhancing its position as a leader in technological innovation and clean energy solutions.
Dr. Lindsay also emphasized his commitment to promoting entrepreneurship and equipping students with the skills needed for self-reliance.
He reassured the community of the imminent completion of the proposed 40th Anniversary Students’ Hostel and promised to work with government and private stakeholders to address other infrastructure needs.
Encouraging students to reach their full potential, Dr. Lindsay urged alumni and other stakeholders to support CCTU’s vision of becoming one of Africa’s top technical universities.
He called his investiture a turning point for the university, predicting a “tremendous paradigm shift” that would elevate CCTU to the top ranks of global technical institutions.
