A 16-year-old senior high school student was allegedly raped by a driver, Kofi Baah, in the Eastern region’s Nsawam Adoagyeri Municipality.
The incident occurred on March 28, 2024, while the victim was traveling from the Volta Region to Adeiso-Amakurowm during the Easter holidays.
According to Prince Collins Bening, reporting for Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5 FM, the driver threatened the victim with a knife and held her captive after all other passengers had exited the car at Nsawam.

The victim, whose name has been withheld, was forced to submit to the driver’s demands due to fear for her life.
After the alleged rape, the driver pushed the victim out of the car and drove away. The victim returned home in distress and shared her ordeal with her family.
Her father, a police officer, launched a search for the driver and arrested him on April 21, 2024. The suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation and pleaded for mercy.
The police are currently preparing the suspect for prosecution. The victim’s father was reportedly enraged and attempted to assault the suspect but was restrained by other officers.
