Dad Simpson, Operations Director of Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs, has expressed surprise over criticisms from some Division One clubs regarding the buses donated by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The GFA, under President Kurt Okraku, presented buses to nine Division One clubs on November 20 at the Accra Sports Stadium, fulfilling a promise made at the 29th Ordinary Congress in Kumasi in 2023.

Speaking to Citi News, Simpson hailed the gesture as a “blessing in disguise” for clubs facing financial challenges. He highlighted the positive impact the buses would have on club operations, particularly in alleviating transportation burdens.

“We’re privileged to have this bus because we drove it from Accra to Cape Coast and for me, with the condition I don’t think we will have any problem with it. The only minor problem we have is to create middle seats so that they can contain the number that we want. It’s so economical. I’m kind of excited about a gift like this from the FA.

“Maybe some of them, I don’t know, but for Dwarfs, we don’t have any issues. It will give us a good opportunity to save enough money. You know things in Ghana, when you don’t have money it’s a problem.

“We bought fuel GHS1,000 from Accra and when we got to Cape Coast we used only GHS500. Meanwhile, our old bus, Accra to Cape Coast will cost us over GHS2,000. So for us, it’s a blessing in disguise.”
