The Electoral Commission (EC) has commenced the nationwide distribution of ballot papers today, Thursday, November 14, to gear up for the December 7 general elections.
According to a letter dated November 13, the EC informed political party General Secretaries of the scheduled phases for this distribution.
Starting with the Greater Accra Region, the next batch is set for Friday, November 15, covering the Central, Western, Savannah, and Upper West Regions.
Distribution will continue on Saturday, November 16, for the Ashanti, Ahafo, and Western North Regions.
This distribution is part of the EC’s comprehensive preparations over the past month, which included completing voter registration, designating polling stations, and training election officers.
The ballot papers will be securely stored in police facilities in each region until election day, when they will be transferred to officials in the presence of party representatives to maintain transparency.
The EC has assured the public that rigorous security protocols are in place to safeguard the ballots and uphold the integrity of the electoral process.
