The Electoral Commission (EC) has confirmed that the order of candidates on the presidential ballot for the 2024 elections will remain unchanged, despite the recent disqualification of Philip Appiah Kubi, the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) candidate.

This decision, announced by EC Chairperson Jean Mensa at an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on Tuesday, November 12, comes as part of the Commission’s efforts to finalize preparations for the upcoming elections.
Mensa assured party representatives that the disqualification of Kubi would not require alterations to the ballot order, as the printing process for the presidential ballots is already 90% complete.
She emphasized that the EC is committed to a smooth and timely election process, with all election materials expected to be ready well before election day.
“We are here to inform you that the presidential ballot will remain as it is. We are almost 90 percent done with the printing of ballots,” Mensa stated, highlighting that the decision to maintain the current ballot structure was made to prevent any disruptions or logistical challenges.
Kubi had been nominated as the replacement for GFP’s original candidate, Akua Donkor, who passed away on October 28.
The EC’s decision helps to ensure that the election process remains on track, minimizing delays and complications.
